Damien's Little Brit - Progress Pics

The boys have already taken the grinder to that neat little frame. Say goodbye to all those unwanted brackets.

Murder.......

Keith Gordon's Suzuki 650 Bobber

Another good base bike looking for an instant weight reduction program. Here's Keith...
Hi. I have just bought this bike and have started stripping it.

too many ideas for one bike!

Keep the pics coming Keith and let us know what the plans are for the transformation.

Chis and Stephen's Nice Try

Another off the wall entry. Glad to see that Grinderfest is anything but a cookie cutter Brit and Harley love in. Everything is up for chopping. Here's Chris....

My mate, Stephen and I have been working on this little project for a few weeks. Started life as a busted ass Yamaha Try 50cc scooter.

We have stripped it down, chopped bits off, welded bits on, and now it sorta still ressembles the original design.
We dont have many build pics for release at the moment, but it certainly will be different once its running again.
The whole concept behind the build was to not spend ANY money on it. So far so good. It has been completely built to date with found, gifted or already had parts and pieces.

I have attached a pic of what it onced would have looked like. Picture is not of our scooter.

Dave Agent's Maxi

Remember when you were 16 and you definitely had to have wheels? I do and so does Dave. I used to have a custom painted Mobylette that I rebuilt myself. Dave's going for a completely different look here. Makes me proud. Over to you Dave.
I have attached a pic of in it's current state.

Plans for it are convert to a full frame, rather than step through, fit
'real' bike forks and style something like a cafe racer.  The engine will be
rebuilt with a larger bore and some kind of expansion chamber with an
optimistic top speed of 100kph (the last time it ran it maxed out at 40kph).

I have built a couple of mopeds in the past, though normally limited to
mostly engine swaps/mods and this will be the biggest rework that I have
undertaken to date.

Of course I do understand if you don't want a small bike in the comp as they
are quite a different style.  But I think the ethos behind my build is
aligned pretty well with what you are trying to achieve.  This definitely
won't be a catalog build.

Nice one Dave

Cam's Ironhead

Another one of the Grease Monkey Crew swings into action. We've already seen some of Cam's metalwork expertise with his tanks and seats. This time Cam is stepping it up with another ground up frame build. Wish I could weld so it didn't look like chicken shit...
Seriously, I am well impressed with the bike building talent in NZ.

Mike's Bike

Mike from over on the Grease Monkey Forum is doing it the hard way. This is a complete ground up build including the frame. Mike is currently looking for a Sportser motor to fit between these tubes. Some very impressive work going on here.

Mitch's Clean XS650

Mitch Williams-Wright is the next contender. Mitch has just picked up this nice clean XS650 that one of the Rattlers had spare. Seems nearly too nice to tear apart but that's the plan. First old school Yam for Grinderfest but I'm sure it won't be the last. Here's Mitch...

The bike came from Scott Ward - xschobber on the forum. This week has been spent stripping the bike. At this stage I'm thinking of keeping it soft-tail but will modify the rear sub-frame slightly to get a different stance. Going to aim for a sort of Bratstyle / Frisco look as there has been so many hardtails recently.
My ideal build would be to do a drop-seat frame but seeing as this is my first build and wanna get it done in six months thats probably a bit too much to ask.

Damien's Little Brit

Next contender. Damien and Nathan have started collecting parts and firing up the grinder. Expect this one to have a radical paint job. Keep those pics coming guys.
